Hi

How can I separate the Topics or Categories on the home page instead of them all being bunched together. I have gone all through the admin menu's but can't seem to find the control that separates them.

I would like the Forum rules to be created and put apart from the usual Categories.

I figured the last one out and this one is kind of linked in that the topics on the Home page have a white background and I would like them to be transparent or change the colour but can't find the control for this.

You should be able to change the color by changing the value of the field "Background color of the elements"

However, if you want to have it transparent that is a bit more tricky. Since it can't be done via the Layout settings, you'll have to add some custom CSS to get this to work. Here a code snippet that should get you startet:

Add this in Admin → Layout → CSS

.c_r_top1, .c_r_top2, .c_r_top3, .c_r_bottom1, .c_r_bottom2, .c_r_bottom3,.c_r_top1 div, .c_r_top2 div, .c_r_top3 div, .c_r_bottom1 div, .c_r_bottom2 div, .c_r_bottom3 div,.c_r_content1, .c_r_content2, .c_r_content3,.c_r_content1 div, .c_r_content2 div, .c_r_content3 div{background-image:none !important; background-color: transparent !important; }

I don't know if that will solve all your problems, but it' a good start. maybe some more CSS will be needed to get it to run, too.
If you only want it to be transparent on the "forum overview" but not on the other pages some more trickery is needed

Just play around with this for now and let me know when you get stuck...

Hi Ingmar

All went well with the layout of the home page and got the desired effect I wanted thanks very much.

After awhile though I was PM by a member and we now have trouble with the enlarge photo's in the Gallery section not being displayed, any ideas as I wondered if solving one problem has caused another, although pictures can be viewed but disappear when enlarged.

Hi John

this was actually cause by the CSS you added.
Since the enlarged picture is a background-image, it was also disabled by the CSS.

I removed the !important in your CSS-statement and it seems to be working now.

Thanks Ingmar I kind of guessed it was something to do with the CSS but never having done this stuff before didn't quite know which part was causing the problem.
