Hi Ingmar
I have looked around the Q&A but can't seem to find out the reccomended file size for uploading pictures to the forum. Is there a maximum size?

Hi John.

Here's our official statement:

Only the following file types up to a maximum size of 2 MBytes are supported:
.jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png, .sxw, .pdf, .txt, .doc, .docx, .pptx, .ppsx, .xlsx, .odt, .sxc, .xls, .zip, .rar, .mp3, .vsd, .ppt, .xml

In our experience you shouldn't have any trouble uploading files up to 5Mb.
