I have been notified recently that people registering for our Forum are
1. Not receiving an email with an activation link - they receive no email at all
2. I do not receive a notification that a new user is trying to join the Forum

I have just tested this by trying to register as "chew" with my own email address. I did not receive an activation email and webmaster@fairfieldgolfclub.co.uk did not receive a notification of "chew" wanting to join.
The application to join is shown as a member awaiting activation in the admin section of our Forum.
Can you assist.

Hi,
I still have the problem as per my first communication. Request, Activation and confirmation emails are not going out automatically via the system.
I have tried another a few minutes ago. I received none of the 3 items.

Ref my problems. If it helps track the problem - I have left an awaiting activation on our forum for a new member called "golfer" This is set up with one of my email addresses. On applying - no request was received into my email for an email confirmation.

Webmaster all the forums are having the problem and it will be fixed tomorrow

Like the original poster, webmaster, i too am having the same problems with my forum.
Activation emails are not getting through, members trying to change passwords are not getting the emails through, and email notifications of private messages are not coming through either... in short, email notifications are not working.

could this be sorted soon, i have members who have forgotten their passwords, and are waiting to reset them, but cant.

So far, we have google (gmail) and Thunderbird. I will ask others and see who else is using what.

I will try again, but i myself use thunderbird and didnt get the log in details email when i applied for a replacement password on one of my test accounts, and also my admin account is gmail, and i didn’t get notification of a new test member i set up wanting to join the forum....

The other person who was having problems uses sparrow, and also gmail and apparently also didn’t get the password reset mail when she applied.

will try again and let you know if it works this time

Hi Alice,
i have just signed up 3 new test members to my forum.
One using yahoo mail,
one using gmail,
and one using thunderbird

none of them have had confirmation emails to respond to, and my admin gmail hasn’t been notified that they have asked to join.

they are on the forum to be authorised though.

sorry to cause problems, but hope you can work out what is happening,
