A little complicated this one, we have noted on our forum that sometimes between reading a post and typing out a reply some other member has posted the same reply.

I have noted on other forums that when this occurs that you get a warning and you can then read that post. You are then able to mosify your own post so that you don't give the same reply.

I hope I have made myself clear and what I am explaining is understandable.

Will any upgrade in the near future be inclusive of this feature?

thanks for your suggestion!
I talked to the programmers and they told me: Indeed an useful function, but right now we do have other priorities, e.g. improving already existing functions etc. So I doubt this feature will be implemented the next time, sry.

Further to my original post on this possible addition, has there been any movement toward the desired result. I only ask because as word games feature strongly on our forum. It is now getting to be a bit of a bind when we are repeatedly having to stop to sort out duplicated answers.

Why ask us for suggestions for features when you just move a suggestion from soon to be implemented to not worth the effort without a second thought. I mean it hardly looks like you are inundated with requests for new features here.

You very well may be hosting thousands of forums, but how many are in the UK. If you want to raise your standing it the UK you might want to think about giving us a bit of priority. I am loosing members on my forum because I am unable to provide such a simple feature. After constantly being at the top of you "Top 500 List" you will see that we are now beginning to drop down list.

Hi Phil, long time no chat.
We get similar problems once in awhile, though its nothing so intelligent as word games.

We tend to be a bunch of utter loonies on our board, and when the "Matriarch of the Forums" is offline for a day or two we get the cyber cards out and play 3 card brag etc. Now seeing as the 'cards' are only in our heads - along with the single malt scotch - and the effects of the forgoing - as well as trying to keep up with who says they've got what cards..... Lets just say that it gets surreal beyond belief and funny enough to choke yourself......... It is also VERY difficult to keep up wth the rate of chat, and so we get similar problems to yourself. Basically it comes down to who can type the fastest.

We've found that the "Quick Reply" is the best way on those types of threads as it removes so much 'latency' from the process. But if you're up against a touch typist then you're toast anyway.

As a fellow UK board founder/admin, I think we've gotta cut Ingmar and the gang some slack. I've been online under one 'nick' or another since before the World Wide Web came into being, and clearly remember using the Hayes dialup codes and modem phone couplers etc (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayes_command_set). In all that time, I've never come across an organisation that's as good as xobor. Both in terms of the software itself and also the team keeping the whole thing running. Hopefully the team will give us what we'd like eventually, but in the meantime......

FYI Phil - You think you're hard pressed now that you've dropped out of the number one spot on the Top 500? Well although we can't match you for post volume etc we're still doing very well compared to most of the boards in that list. And guess what? For some reason I can't figure out we've never even made it into the list (Hint - Ingmar)

Let me set the record straight I am not criticising you the rest of your team or Xobor in general. In fact on the whole we could not be more pleased with the way our forum is developing. After my initial enquiry I was given the impression that this feature might be added at sometime in the future. This is what I reported to my membership.

Far better if you had told me that due to other commitments and pressure that it wasn't even being thought about. I would have told my members what you had said and as they say that would have been that. As it was I had to tell my members that it wasn't going to happen.

So please accept my apology if I seemed a little brusque, but it has always been my way to shoot directly from the hip and not beat around the bush. I find that it tends to get things done.
