Hm, could you ask them which browser they are using?
Maybe they all use the same one so we'd know where to start looking...

Ok thanks for the feedback - we'll monitor the chat connections for a while and hope we can find the problem.

I'll have another idea: In the last couple of weeks the most mistakes where provoked by using an adblocker. Adblockers block more than the user wants to - all of them. Please turn off your adblockers and test, if the problem still occurs.

Another way to avoid the problem would be to use the "Show chat on extra page" setting. That way you should join the chat automatically when you open the chat page.

To be honest I have no idea what is causing the problem and since you seem to be the only forum where it occurs there's not much else we can do about it.

The "OnClick"-Event for the chat connector is fired only after the page is fully loaded. Maybe there are other Javascripts that take a long tiime to finish and further delay the point where the onclick-event is added? Have you added additional JS-Scripts like a slideshow/visitor counter etc? In this case try to remove those scripts and see if it helps.

I created an account in our forum - I hope I can find the problem this way.

When the Chat doesn't open for you, do you get any Javascript errors ?
In Chrome, just hit F12 and click on the "console"-tab to see JS-errors. You can ignore he "Failed to load ressource" entries.

I just tried around a bit and the chat opened right away 10 out of 10 times with FF or Chrome...
